On September 18, 2024, NESSS hosted a transformative workshop titled "Rethinking Leadership: The Shift from Fear to Empowerment” for its 30 plus coordinators. Led by Ms. Harsiddhi Shah, a certified soft skills trainer and learning enthusiast, the event was organized in collaboration with Franklin Covey Education and Catalyser.
The workshop aimed to redefine leadership in education, moving away from traditional hierarchical models towards a more collaborative and empowering approach. Through interactive activities, teachers explored new paradigms of leadership that foster trust and cooperation among colleagues and students alike.

On the 6th of September 2024, the Sir Sayajirao Nagar Gruh at Akota came alive with the resounding chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya,’ as New Era Senior Secondary School and Anand Vidya Vihar School united under the initiative spearheaded by Chhatra Sansad, in collaboration with the Vadodara Police Department to host the spiritually and culturally enriching event, "Bacche Bole Morya," for the second consecutive year. With its emphasis on sustainability and environmental conservation, the event radiated a profound sense of divine energy. The occasion was further elevated by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Shri Narasimha Komar, Commissioner of Police; Guest of Honour Mr. Manan Desai, renowned Indian actor and comedian; Mr. Manoj Ninama, Joint Commissioner of Police; Mr. Kunal Sharma, Founder and President of Chhatra Sansad; and Dr. Geetika Madan Patel, Vice President Parul University & Managing Trustee of NESSS and AVV, along with other distinguished guests.
The highlights of the event were a breathtaking series of dance performances, a perfect fusion of devotion and artistry, and a musical melody commemorating the contribution of Sri Bal Gangadhar Tilka towards uniting the nation through this festival. NESSS students, Parul University, and disciples of Shivkumar Pillai from Samved Kala Mahotsav took to the stage and mesmerized the audience. Their graceful movements reflected a deep connection with tradition, leaving the audience awestruck.
In keeping with the spirit of environmental preservation, the event also aimed to inspire eco-consciousness. New Eraites created around 150 eco-friendly Ganesh idols, which were distributed to the Deputy Commissioners and the Assistant Commissioners of various divisions and police stations across the city. Students of AVV also chipped in their efforts in this pioneering initiative. This beautiful gesture and the exhibitions of eco-friendly Ganesh idols, not only promoted the use of sustainable materials but also highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony with nature in all our festivities.

This memorable tribute, meticulously organized by the dedicated Grade X cabinet, was a testament to the profound impact teachers have on their students' lives.
The event showcased the exceptional organizational skills of the NESSS Student Body. From theme conceptualization to performance auditions, every detail was expertly managed by exemplary Council Members. Personalized greeting cards to different departments and thoughtful venue decorations added a heartfelt dimension to the celebration.
The celebration kicked off with charismatic introductions by student leaders: Arnav Sejpal (Head Boy), Vaibhavi Yadav (Head Girl), Maitri Amreliya (Vice Head Girl) and Heer Shah (Pragati House Captain), who kept the audience engaged throughout. The stage came alive with a diverse array of performances ranging from graceful Kathak dances, high energy Hip- Hops, and soulful Band performances. The air was filled with joy as students showcased their talents in honour of their mentors.
In a heartwarming display of gratitude, students presented heartfelt personalized gift cards with heartfelt messages to all scholastic and co-scholastic teaching staff, administrative personnel, and support staff. This gesture honoured the invaluable contributions of everyone who contributes to the NESSS community. The highlight of the day was Class 11 & 12 students donning the role of teachers and taking charge of the classes, giving the teachers time to enjoy & relax. The students too enjoyed the company of the student teachers as one could see the vibrancy in the classrooms echoing with fun & laughter.

New Era Preschool celebrated Janmashtami with delight and enthusiasm, immersing the children in the rich traditions of the festival.
Children, dressed in traditional chaniya choli and kurtas added a special charm to the festival.
The day began with melodious devotional songs dedicated to Lord Krishna. The little ones sang bhajans with innocent fervor, filling the atmosphere with devotion and excitement.
Children from FS 2 performed dances, dressed as Radha and Krishna. Their vibrant costumes and synchronized steps brought the spirit of Vrindavan to life.
A dramatic enactment of Krishna’s birth followed, with the teachers narrating and enacting the story of Devaki and Vasudeva making it engaging and memorable.
Krishna's presence was evoked by performing Aarti with all the teachers and children participating in offering prayers to their beloved Krishna Bhagwan.
The highlight of the day was the "Matki Phod" event where the children joyfully re enacted Krishna's love for Makkhan, breaking the pot just like little Krishna used to steal butter from the hanging Matki.

Empowering Educators: Transforming Classrooms with Active Learning @ NESSS Fostering Innovation and Engagement in Modern Education New Era Senior Secondary School, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence, CBSE Ajmer, hosted a transformative one-day workshop on 10th Aug 2024 for its in-house and Ajmer region facilitators. Themed ‘Active Learning,’ this power-packed session was led by two dynamic experts: Mr. Shayne Jones, CBSE Resource Person and Principal of Deep Darshan Vidya Sankul, Surat, and Dr. Madhavi Mangat, Creative Programme Coordinator at Cygnus World School, Harni, Vadodara. Mr. Shayne Jones, known for his excellent oratory skills, focused on the significance of active learning. He provided insights into creating engaging and interactive learning environments, as well as developing an active learning lesson plan that promotes 21st-century skills in students. Dr. Madhavi Mangat, with her sharp intellect, offered an in-depth understanding of modern pedagogical techniques and strategies to be applied for engaging student-oriented sessions in classrooms. Both speakers strongly emphasized the crucial need for facilitators to continuously evolve, ensuring they are equipped to meet the ever-changing demands of contemporary education. A whooping number of seventy plus teachers had great take aways from the sessions. Eight budding filmmakers from MS3 and SS1 of NESSS traversed on an enlightening journey of filmmaking in the Film IT workshop organized by the INTACH Team (Vadodara and Delhi) at Navrachana International School.
Under the mentorship of Ms Meena Rana and Ms Linata Arnade pupils immersed in the art of visual storytelling. From dissecting sample films to mastering various shot types, these young auteurs delved deep into the intricacies of documentary filmmaking, with a special focus on heritage themes.
This hands-on experience not only equipped the students with essential filmmaking techniques but also opened a gateway to future collaborations and competitions.
It’s now ‘Lights, Camera and Action’ for these pupils to convert their experience into real films in the competition.

Under the expert guidance of Suraj Shetkar (Sr. Program Manager at Juana Technologies Private Limited) the participants explored the functionalities of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, OneNote, Minecraft, and more.

A museum offers a unique view of the world, allowing children to delve deeper into the history they learn about in their books. With this in mind, New Era Senior Secondary School organized an educational tour for PS2 and PS3 students to the Baroda Museum & Picture Gallery.
The Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery boasts a diverse collection of art, including statues and carvings from various Asian regions, fine ivory carvings from India, Japan, and China, a modest Egyptian room with a mummy, and an entire floor dedicated to stuffed and pickled wildlife specimens. The gallery also features exquisite Mughal miniatures and an eclectic array of European masters.
The students were particularly excited to see the skeleton of a blue whale and the robes of kings and queens. They were enthusiastic as they carefully explored every corner of the museum, their curiosity evident on their faces.

The event got an auspicious start with lamp lighting by the School Heads and Resource persons. This comprehensive event spanned an entire day, serving as a pivotal platform for educational luminaries to delve into the intricacies of the National Curriculum Framework.
The primary objectives of the workshops were to empower attendees, equipping them with the requisite technical prowess to adeptly integrate the framework within their educational settings. NESSS stellar performer and dance educator, Dr. Manjiri Patwardhan articulated the essence of these words recently where she showcased her talent at the cultural event “Confluence of Indian Culture and Dance” held at the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre (ASCC) at the Embassy of India in Budapest organized by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, India in Hungary (Embassy of India, Budapest) and Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programme was inaugurated by His Excellency, Ambassador Shri Partha Satpathy.
The event was graced by the presence of eminent Ambassadors, Cultural Ambassadors and Director from various countries, senior Hungarian government officials, former diplomats, journalists, artists, members of the Indian diaspora, and Indian culture enthusiasts.

Empowering NESSS Educators for 21st-Century Teaching-Learning
During a two-day workshop on June 5 & 6, 2024 led by Mrs. Rupa Arun, a distinguished education specialist and member of NESSS Advisory team, educators at NESSS strode on the pathway to explore better pedagogies to incorporate their lesson plans with 21st-century skills and promote educational excellence. Educators were informed about the necessity of curriculum road maps and its’ various essential elements, in various subjects. Following that, through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, the educators meticulously developed personalized curriculum roadmaps for their upcoming classes in their respective subjects. Mrs. Rupa Arun's guidance ensured that each roadmap acted as a compass directing students towards success.
The following day was filled with a flurry of creativity. Teachers delved into a plethora of activities to incorporate into their lesson plans in alignment with their curriculum formats. They refined their teaching methods, from instructional approaches to evaluation methods. Various departments participated in personalized conversations with the resource person, addressing their concerns and perfecting their strategies to adopt in their lesson plans.
The workshop equipped educators with state-of-the-art resources, enabling them to establish interactive educational settings. With a firm step forward into the modern era, NESSS educators are ready to spark curiosity, encourage innovation, and cultivate the future cohort of students.

Traversing on these line, NESSS conducted Fire Safety Training session for its educators to ensure preparedness and tackle emergency situations. Mr. Sanjay Prajapati, Trainer of INDIAN Fire and Safety Solutions steered the session that covered emergency response protocols and hands-on operation of the firefighting equipment. During the training session, staff members were instructed on how to effectively handle different types of fire extinguishers and even know the usage of water hose pipes in the event of an emergency. Practical demonstrations equipped them with the necessary skills to respond calmly and efficiently to any potential fire hazard.
