NESSS Coheres for Academic Project on health, Hygiene & Disease

COLLABORATING BEYOND BOUNDARIES…

New Era Senior Secondary School collaborated for a special and extensive academic project based on health, hygiene and disease involving two internship students from Belgium, Thijs VanHaverbeek and Maya Deraedt. The duo conducted a survey, teaching methodologies, and overall learning environment at NESSS. This even gave them an opportunity to compare the same with village schools in the area.

The information collected was hence utilized for academic research and analysis by the students with the aim of enhancing educational practices and contributing to the improvement of educational institutions in both urban and rural areas.

This ten days project involved carrying out of various activities like playing board games, enacting role plays, interviewing the science educators of NESSS and interacting with the students of PS2 (grade5) and MS1 (grade6).

This further assisted the NESSS educators to acknowledge novel ways to introduce topics to the students with the help of board games, flash cards and role play. These were all crafted and designed by the interns which instantly hooked the little ones to learn topics in fun ways. Students even learnt how to come up with innovative solutions to keep their surroundings clean. This project saw its completion with an invigorating feedback session conducted with the students and educators by Maya and Thijs.

Both the interns were in high regard for the NESSS educators who adopt innovative techniques to make teaching learning process a fun journey. This project was a teamwork wherein every member learnt new ways to help the next generation learners reach new heights.
