New Era heads attended the Gyan Sarovar Annual Conference held in Vadodara on 23rd December, centered around the theme "Understanding the National Curriculum Framework for School Education." 


Principals and heads of distinguished educational institutions from across Gujarat participated in this workshop to garner insightful discussions on various aspects of the NCFSE

Ms. Priyadarshini Kelkar chairperson of the Gyan Sarovar Sahodaya, set the tone for the conference by putting forth the need for leaders to transform the education system as envisioned in NEP 2020/ NCFSE draft document, by bringing about positive changes in the curriculum and developing among the individuals/students- desirable values, disposition, capabilities and knowledge to make them worthy citizens of the country.

The event started with the first speaker Dr. Sweta Singh ( Joint secretary -academics, research, and training -CBSE) who gave an overview of NCF and highlighted the aims and priorities of NEP 2020, key principles of good assessment, designing and strengthening good quality assessment and evaluation practises using engaging examples and case based questions.

The next speaker, Dr. Brijesh Karia, ( COO - Singhania Education), focused on the role and key characteristics of NCF and delved into approaches to learning - keeping in mind the competencies and the outcomes. He also suggested an action plan to redesign , reinvent, rethink and restructure learning through new curricular areas.

Finally it was Dr Gaurava Yadav (Founder and moderator India principals’ network), who talked on school culture, ingredients required to develop the school culture, plan for teachers' upskilling and ways to utilize parents as a resource in school.

The conference provided a platform for educational leaders to understand the nuances of the National Curriculum Framework, fostering empowerment and the technical know how, which is crucial for its effective implementation in their own educational institutions.
