CHANDRAYAAN 3 - INDIA’S MISSION TO THE MOON.

To keep the foundational stage children abreast of the current affairs, we recreated the historic groundbreaking milestone achieved by India's space exploration mission Chandrayaan 3,so that the children are able to make connections between what is taught in school and what happens in real world. 

 Some of the activities undertaken were _

-A huge model of Chandrayaan 3 was exhibited and the entire process of the launch of Chandrayaan 3 was recreated. This  initiated a discussion on ISRO, LVM3, Vikram lander and Pragyan Rover, Satish Dhawan Space centre, Sriharikota, Lunar South pole.

-Children saw videos of the launch , soft landing and made drawings , models  expressing their imagination.

To spark the curiosity amongst the students they were  asked thought provoking questions like:-

 1.How is Chandrayaan 3 different from Chandrayaan 2 ?

 2.Why are most of the space missions conducted from  Sriharikota and not any other place?

3. How was ISRO communicating with Vikram lander?

4. Why did India choose the dark side of the moon for landing ?

5.What are the challenges to be tackled on Lunar south pole?

6. What happens to the detached part of the launching vehicle in space?

It was an insightful discussion with the students as it enhanced their  understanding of the moon and beyond.
